Econo Lodge San Marcos University Area

Everything about this non-smoking hotel was great. I was given queen room with a microwave oven, a fridge and a sitting area. Really enjoyed a tub in my private bathroom. The location was particularly good and perfect for exploring San Marcos.

Not one thing about this hotel is worth the outrageous amount of money I spent for one night! There were bugs flying around the room, the only thing that was clean was the bedding. My towels were stained, the toilet didn't flush unless I held the handle down. The remote control didn't work. And the neighborhood was sketchy!!! Please do not think twice about staying here!

The room was dirty, the refrigerator wasn't cooling, we bathed with cold water. There was no warm water but for 2 minutes then gone. The smell of smoke all over sheets and bed. Even though it was a non smoking room. Just over all a really bad experience.

I enjoyed my stay, with super comfy beds and clean facilities. The coffee and donuts were a nice touch, and I appreciated the quick help when I accidentally left my Kindle behind!

I would never ever never stay there ever again the guy charge my credit card the minute that I walked through the door it gave me the option to either pay cash or with card and I was going to pay cash I just reserved the room by the time we got to the room there was actually what look like blood on the shower walls the floor was caked with something I could not even tell what it was it stunk it was very nasty place I was afraid to take off my shoes I was going to go somewhere else but they had already charged me they would not refund my money so they put us in another room there was a little bit better but very loud not very happy at all and I would not recommend this place to anybody

great access to parks and river walk in san marcos

I loved how close we were to the beautiful San Marcos River Walk, it was just a short stroll away and perfect for a peaceful walk, and we also found it easy to visit Rio Vista Park, where we enjoyed some lovely views and green space to relax.

The room in good condition. Perfect location of the hotel close to everything. The staff was amicable & accommodating...

Decent spot but needs work

Honestly, the location was super convenient, and I loved the coffee in the lobby. But the room felt kinda worn out, and I expected more clean towels. They didn't clean my room on the second night either, a bummer.
